New canalside homes set for Abbey Meadows

We’re working on a £10m new development which will see a range of homes built at Abbey Meadows, Leicester. On behalf of GS Developments, Lovell Partnerships and Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA), we’ve designed 82 new homes across the 4.8 acre site; with work anticipated to start in March 2020.

Comprising a mix of two, three and four bedroom properties, the new development will offer both affordable and Build to Rent (BTR) homes. Lovell Partnerships will build them all, with 47 being managed by NCHA as affordable and the remaining 35 being managed by GS Residential as BTR.

Occupying a prominent position on Leicester’s waterside, our design for Abbey Meadows continues the character established at our neighbouring Sock Island scheme, yet is distinguishable by its brick detailing. The homes affronting the canal waterfront all feature roof shapes to echo the site’s industrial heritage.

The first phase of homes is scheduled for completion in winter 2021.
