Fleet Village is a major mixed-use development proposed to transform and regenerate a tight, urban site in the St George’s North area of Leicester. This high-quality PRS apartment scheme includes amenities such as concierge service, gym, café/bar/lounge and cycle storage alongside 3,000 sq ft retail units.
Arranged in a series of four, multi-storey buildings, one of which includes a “green window” to create an upper garden for residents, Fleet Village will revitalise derelict and disused former office buildings, most notably those of British Steam Specialists (BSS). The design concept draws upon this manufacturing heritage and aims to reinterpret it in the architectural language, giving particular emphasis to the relationship between buildings and courtyard and using landscaping to create a strong sense of community.
