We are currently recruiting for a full time Principal Designer with design experience in the construction industry to undertake the role of CDM Principal Designer to work in any of our three studio locations Leicester, Birmingham or London. The opportunity could suit a candidate from a design background currently undertaking the CDM Principal Designer Role with an option to develop their skills further into the role of Building Regulations Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act.
The opportunity could allow also for the candidate to undertake managerial aspects to help develop and nurture the current team and help drive forwards the Principal Designer Team here at rg+p.
The successful candidate is required to…
provide support and advice to multi-disciplinary design teams and clients during the design and pre-construction stages of a wide range of projects to ensure their compliance with their statutory duties under CDM 2015
be involved in defining the standards of the Principal Designer processes and procedures
ensure compliance with CDM 2015 for projects from inception to completion
undertake CDM reviews, audits and give CDM advice
undertake site visits across the region
The successful candidate is required to have…
thorough knowledge and understanding of Construction (Design & Management) 2015 regulations
knowledge and experience of undertaking risk assessments, finding solutions to eliminate/reduce/mitigate risks
a construction design lead experience
an understanding of the principles of prevention and hierarchy of control and how these can be implemented
knowledge of building regulations and all relevant H&S regulations
the initiative to work both independently and as part of a team
excellent time management skills
strong problem solving skills
knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes
an IOSH, APS membership (IMaPS or CMaPS) or NEBOSH qualifications
a clean driving license, their own vehicle and be prepared to travel frequently within their geographical area
